to read quality children's literature. |

The
Show Me Picture Book Award program (grades 1-3) is
sponsored by the Missouri Association of School Librarians.
Students are read the 10 nominated picture books and vote for their
favorite. Votes are tallied statewide and the winning author
is presented with the award. |

The
KC3 Award
program is designed for third grade
students and is sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Association of
School Librarians. Students are presented 10 nominated books
based on their suitability for third grade readers. Students
in the greater Kansas City area select the winner. |

The
Mark Twain Award (grades 4-8) is also sponsored by
the Missouri Association of School Librarians. Librarians,
principals, teachers, parents and students select the 20 nominees
from each copyright year. Students must read or listen to at
least 4 of the nominated chapter books in order to vote. The
library provides additional incentives for reading additional titles
from the list of nominees. |

National TV Turn-Off Week, and the Stallion Summer Reading
