Longview Farm Guidance Program

Classroom Lessons
As the
Longview Farm Elementary School counselor I am looking forward to working with your child throughout the school year.  Using the State and District Comprehensive Guidance Program, we will emphasize communication, decision-making, interpersonal and career awareness skills through one-on-one settings, small group, and classroom curriculum.  Some classroom lessons include personal body safety, conflict resolution, bullying, friendship, learning skills, and career exploration.

Group Counseling

We will be offering participation in small groups.  Before your child participates in any of the groups offered, a permission letter will be sent home for you to sign. The groups are formed on an as needed basis.  Some groups offered in the past were divorce, friendship, anger control, and a grandparents raising grandchildren group.

Individual Counseling/Resources

Parent resources are available through our school library and counselor’s office. Information on referral services related to helping students is available through the counseling department. When school counselors meet with students individually, it is usually on a short-term basis related to problem solving.
